Privacy Notice

Last updated: 7 September 2026

americanhealthact.org publishes a pre-legislative working draft of a healthcare policy proposal. It is a personal project of Edward Reese, in California, USA. There are no accounts, no advertising and no third-party analytics product.

Three things worth knowing before you read further. This site counts page views, and the counter is hosted on another site the same owner runs. If you use the feedback form, what you write is stored in a database, not just emailed. And the page loads its typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google every time you visit. All three are explained below.

The feedback form

If you send feedback, the following is saved to a database on the server and also emailed to the site owner:

It is kept until the site owner deletes it. It is not shared with anyone, not used for any mailing list, and not sold.

This is a policy site, and views on healthcare can be personal. Please bear in mind that what you send is retained, and do not include medical details, or anything you would not want kept, in a message to a website. If you have written in and want your submission deleted, ask and it will be removed.

A hidden field in the form catches automated spam. If it is filled in — which only a bot does — the submission is discarded and nothing is stored.

Google Fonts

The site's typeface is loaded from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. That means your browser makes a request to Google on every page view, and Google receives your IP address, your user-agent and the fact that you loaded a page on this site. That happens before you interact with anything, and it is not something this site can see or control once the request leaves your browser. Google's handling of it is covered by Google's own privacy policy, not this one.

This is avoidable — the font could be served from this site instead — and it is on the list to change.

Page-view counting

When you open a page, your browser sends a short message to nanoleap.com, which is another site run by the same owner, recording that the page was viewed. This is first-party counting rather than a third-party analytics product: no advertising company is involved, and the data is not sold, shared or used for marketing.

What is recorded for each view:

Your IP address is recorded with each view and kept for one year, then removed from the record along with the browser string. The page, the timestamp and the country remain, so visit counts survive, but the row stops being traceable to you.

These records are not shared. The one exception is legal: where required by law, or in pursuing or responding to a claim about illegal activity. Nothing is sold, rented, given to advertisers, or used to build a profile.

This is not a claim to keep you anonymous. Any website can see the address you connect from, and the web server logs it regardless. What is being stated here is what is kept, for how long, and what will and will not be done with it.

Because the counter is hosted on nanoleap.com and uses the same method there, a visit to this site and a visit to that one can in principle be recognised as coming from the same source. Both sites belong to the same person. The data is not combined with anything from anywhere else, and there is no advertising network involved at any point.

Country lookups use the free IP Geolocation by DB-IP database (CC-BY 4.0), stored and queried locally.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies today and stores nothing in your browser. The page-view counter described above does not use one; it identifies nothing and remembers nothing between visits.

That may change. If cookies or browser storage are added, this notice will be updated to say exactly what they are and what they do, with the date changed at the top. This notice describes what the site does now, not what it might do.

Server logs

As with essentially any website, the web server keeps standard access logs for reliability and security: the page requested, a timestamp and the requesting address. They are ordinary operational records and are not used to profile readers.

What the site does not do

Children

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, or under the minimum age where you live.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of anything you have sent, or ask for it to be deleted, through the feedback form or by writing to the site owner. Blocking third-party requests in your browser, or using an extension that does, will stop the Google Fonts request — the site remains fully readable in a fallback typeface.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
